South Korean model and TV star Kim Jong-Suk passed away at the young age of 29. The news was confirmed by his family on June 6. In their statement, the family mentioned that he had passed away earlier in the week. Fans of the star, as well as his colleagues from the entertainment industry, are in mourning. However, speculation surrounding the cause of his death has become a topic of discussion on social media. The family did not disclose the reason behind his death, adding to the rumors, including speculation about suicide.

Did Kim die by suicide?

According to Korean media reports, Kim was linked to an incident in Hana, Gyeonggi-do, shortly before his death. Reports stated that the incident involved a man in his twenties who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. Following a police investigation, the young man is said to have jumped to his death from a high-rise building. While officials have not confirmed any connection between Kim and the man involved, the timing of the events has led to speculation about Kim’s passing.

Kim’s family, aware of the rumors circulating online, issued a statement urging people not to spread false information. Kim's elder sister took to social media to share the message on behalf of the family, "We are in the middle of funeral preparations, overwhelmed and heartbroken. But I’m seeing so many baseless and false claims spreading across online communities. At first, we chose not to respond, hoping Jong-Suk could rest in peace. But now, it has gone too far."

She further added that they have requested the removal of misleading articles. She also mentioned that the family would share a summary of the police report along with a statement from a friend who was with Kim at the time of the incident. She emphasized that the false narratives were causing immense pain to the family and warned that anyone spreading defamatory content would be dealt with legally.
