Former NCT member Lucas has returned from his hiatus with the first part of his documentary series 'Freeze', which was released on YouTube. In the clip, Lucas can be seen speaking about his mental health with his manager. For those unversed, the hiatus was a result of the controversies that surrounded the idol after he was accused of allegedly cheating, gaslighting his ex-girlfriends, abusing, as well as stealing money.

In the documentary, Lucas referring to his hiatus said, “I stayed only in my room for 6 months, I didn’t want to do anything. I had a lot of thoughts. I had terrible thoughts. I was so sorry I wanted to die. In all seriousness, my hair kept falling out, I didn’t even eat properly because I had no appetite. Honestly, it was all my fault, had I not done that, this wouldn’t have happened."

Lucas further stated that he eventually started looking at the positives in life and said, "I forgot the most important people in my life and those who are the nicest to me. That was what came to my mind." He also thanked his manager saying, “Honestly, you aren’t just a manager to me. You’re my friend.”

Lucas sparked a debate over his return and received mixed reactions from netizens.

One user on X wrote, "People who speak ill of idols and bully them online should watch this to realise that they’re human beings as well and not your punching bags because of the mistakes they made."

"For a long time I wondered what explanation you'd give. This reputation rehabilitating and manipulative "documentary" is awful. You admit you did it all, but dance around what it is you did exactly. You apologise, but not to the girls you harmed," added another.

Lucas, whose real name is Wong Yuk-hei, hails from Hong Kong. He is a part of the SM Entertainment. He made his debut with NCT in 2018. with their debut studio album NCT 2018 Empathy. In 2021 Lucas faced a roadblock in her career following the controversy around his past relationships which led to the postponement of his single 'Jalapeño'. Last year, SM announced that will call it quits with NCT and pursue a solo career.
