Bhojpuri cinema superstar Pawan Singh and his wife, Jyoti Singh, are embroiled in a contentious marital dispute that has now culminated in divorce proceedings. The couple, married since 2018, has faced a turbulent relationship. Jyoti even hurled serious allegations against the actor. As their legal battle rages on in court, Jyoti had reportedly requested a hefty Rs 30 crore alimony payment from the actor. She has now received support from Pawan's ex-girlfriend and actress Akshara Singh.

Akshara Singh supports Jyoti Singh's alimony demand

As per IANS, Akshara Singh, the ex-girlfriend of Pawan Singh, feels that Jyoti Singh’s demands are completely valid and that society should step in to help divorced women receive alimony without a cap. She said, "Whenever a girl gets married and goes with someone, it becomes her responsibility. At the same time, it is her right to take her alimony, and she should receive it fully. Definitely, it should be given, whether she asks for Rs 10 crore, Rs 20 crore, or even Rs 100 crore — it may still not be enough.”

Jyoti Singh, the estranged wife of Bhojpuri actor-singer Pawan Singh, has formally sought alimony and financial maintenance as part of her ongoing matrimonial litigation. In her petition, Jyoti Singh has argued that she is legally entitled to maintenance under Indian matrimonial law, citing the disparity in income, social standing, and earning capacity between the two parties.

As per the court filings reported in the media, Jyoti Singh has stated that she does not have an independent source of income sufficient to maintain a lifestyle comparable to that of her husband. She has alleged emotional distress, marital discord, and abandonment, contending that the marriage broke down due to circumstances beyond her control.

About Jyoti Singh and Pawan's public showdown

For those unversed, Pawan Singh filed for divorce in the Ara Family Court in 2022 and has reportedly missed several court hearings, which has further disrupted Jyoti’s life. Their divorce turned into a public showdown after Jyoti shared a video in October 2025 claiming she was denied entry to Pawan's residence.

Jyoti went on to accuse her husband of infidelity. She alleged that Pawan Singh had taken another woman to a hotel in front of her shortly after the elections. Jyoti Singh also made disturbing claims about her marriage, alleging that she was given abortion pills multiple times and suffered emotional and physical abuse.
