In recent months, Tamil Nadu has witnessed a spate of bomb hoaxes, creating widespread alarm. On Friday, a bomb threat was issued to the well-known actress Trisha's residence. Police immediately rushed to the spot with sniffer dogs and carried out a detailed search operation. Fortunately, the threat turned out to be a hoax.

Bomb threat at Trisha’s residence

Sources said that the police swung into action as soon as they received the information and swiftly arrived at her residence in Teynampet. Police personnel, along with sniffer dogs, conducted a thorough search of Trisha's home, only to realise that the threat was false.

Sources added that prominent dignitaries such as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin had also received similar threats. Although the threats have been declared a hoax, the Tamil Nadu police are leaving no stone unturned to identify those behind them, as there has been a considerable rise in such incidents of late.

Just a couple of days ago, a bomb threat was made to actor Vijay's Neelankarai residence, prompting the police to launch a probe. Last month, a bomb threat to the residence of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami in Chennai also triggered concern.

Trisha’s upcoming movies

Meanwhile, actress Trisha has a number of films lined up for release. She will be seen in the fantasy entertainer Vishwambhara and in Karuppu, directed by R. J. Balaji.

Vishwambhara, produced by Vikram, Vamsi, and Pramod under the UV Creations banner, blends mythology with emotion and promises to be a cinematic spectacle. The film is set to release in the summer of 2026. While announcing the release, Chiranjeevi described Vishwambhara as a wonderful story akin to Chandamama, saying it would appeal both to children and to the child in every grown-up individual.

Karuppu is an action entertainer in which actor Suriya plays a lawyer named Saravanan. The film also features Malayalam actors Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, and Tamil actors Yogi Babu and Natty in pivotal roles. It will have music by young composer Sai Abhyankkar and cinematography by GK Vishnu.

Trisha’s last release was Thug Life, which starred Kamal Haasan in the lead role.
