Rajinikanth's much-awaited film, Coolie, is all set to hit the screens this Independence weekend. Ahead of the release, the salaries of the cast from Rajinikanth to Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, director Lokesh Kanagaraj and more have been revealed

One of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2025, Coolie, is all set to hit screens on August 14, 2025. Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj’s the film stars Superstar Rajinikanth headlining the film, while a star-studded ensemble including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan, along with a cameo by Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, add to the star power. Notably, this marks the first time Rajinikanth enters the cinematic universe of Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for blockbusters such as Kaithi (2019), Master (2021), Vikram (2022) and Leo (2023).
Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan and Nagarjuna's Coolie salary
While the team of Coolie continues to create buzz around the film, speculations about the fees charged by the director and the actors have been doing the rounds. According to reports, Rajinikanth has charged anywhere between Rs 150-250 crore for the film. Even at the age of 74, Rajinikanth continues to be one of the highest-paid actors in the industry and a massive crowd puller. The audience is eagerly waiting to see Rajinikanth's larger-than-life persona in theatres.
On the other hand, Telugu megastar Nagarjuna, who plays the antagonist named Simon in Rajinikanth's film, has charged Rs 24 to 30 crores for this film, according to reports. Earlier, Rajinikanth had called it a well-written role for a villain.
The film also features Aamir Khan, who will be seen in a cameo appearance. The Sitaare Zameen Par star has reportedly worked on Coolie out of admiration for Rajinikanth, and did not charge a single rupee for it. He had previously described his appearance in Coolie as a gesture of deep respect for the legendary star.
Coolie cast salaries
Shruti Haasan will also be seen in the film playing an intense character, working closely with Rajinikanth's character of Deva. She has been paid Rs 4 crore for her role, according to reports. As per reports, Pooja Hegde, who features in a special song in the film, Monica, has charged Rs 3 crore for the song. Monica is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and is believed to be set against a crucial background in the film.
Actor Sathyaraj, who will be reuniting with Rajinikanth after several years, has reportedly charged Rs 5 crore for his role in the film, while Kannada star, Upendra Rao has charged Rs 4 crore for his role. Meanwhile, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir has charged Rs 1 crore for his role in Rajinikanth's film.
The director, Lokesh Kanagaraj, had earlier revealed that he has charged Rs 50 crore for directing the film.
