Mohanlal is one of the most talented and beloved actors in India, often regarded as an acting school in himself. Today, as he celebrated his 65th birthday, the actor — who has dedicated a major part of his life to cinema — announced the release date of his biography titled Mukharagam. Penned by Bhanu Prakash, the book will chronicle Mohanlal’s 47-year journey in the film industry.

Mohanlal shares update on his biography

On Wednesday, Mohanlal took to social media to share an update about Mukharagam. He posted a video in which he spoke about the upcoming book in Malayalam. He revealed that the biography captures his 47-year journey in cinema and has been beautifully written by author Bhanu Prakash. The book will also feature a foreword by legendary writer MT Vasudevan Nair.

Mukharagam is set to be launched on December 25, 2025 — a date that also marks Mohanlal’s 47th year in the movies.

Mohanlal's historic 2025

So far the actor had two releases this year and both films have managed to create box office records. He began the year with the much hyped and anticipated film Lucifer 2. The film directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran saw Mohanlal return as Stephen Nedumpally and his alter ego Ibrahim Qureshi. The film, despite mixed reviews, became the highest grossing Malayalam film ever.

Mohanlal followed a grand film like L2: Empuraan with a rooted film like Thudarum. The film was touted as a comeback of Mohanlal as it reminded one of his early day performances. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film drew audiences to the theatres with midnight shows displaying the houseful signs. The film created history by becoming the first Malayalam film crossing Rs 100 crore at the Kerala box office.
