Marking 10 years since its release, the makers released Baahubali: The Epic in theatres on October 31, 2025, giving fans a chance to witness the magic of the two films of the franchise in one. For a long time now, there have been rumours that a big surprise is in store for Baahubali fans. The film's producer, Shobu Yarlagada, had earlier teased that a special announcement would be made with the theatrical release of Baahubali: The Epic. SS Rajamouli announces 3D animated film Baahubali: The Eternal War
During a recent promotional interview with Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, director S.S. Rajamouli made a big announcement, surprising fans. The filmmaker, who is currently busy working on SSMB29 with Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, shared that the world of Baahubali is close to his heart and that it is about to come to life again.
SS Rajamouli announced, "This is not Baahubali 3, but a continuation of that world. We have made a 3D animated film called 'Baahubali: The Eternal War'. Its teaser will be released during the intermission of 'Baahubali: The Epic'." He also revealed the production cost of this Baahubali: The Eternal War film, stating that it is planned with a whopping Rs 120 crore!
"Shobu Yarlagada has been working continuously on this project for over two years. Now we are making this film on a budget of Rs 120 crore," SS Rajamouli shared. Shocked on hearing the budget, Prabhas joked, "120 crore? This is the planned budget for our Baahubali." Also revealed that the film has been produced by the internationally renowned animation studio Arcane

Rajamouli also dropped a much-awaited confirmation about the third instalment of the franchise, stating that Baahubali 3 will definitely be made in the future.
Meanwhile, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati were amazed by the visuals, size, and grandeur when they saw the teaser of the recently released Baahubali: The Epic, which released worldwide on October 31, 2025. It is a 3-hour and 44-minute grand re-release combining both parts into one film.
