Anita Hassanandani on 25 years
Anita Hassanandani is one of the most loved actresses of telly town. She has left an indelible mark with her impactful roles in Kkavyanjali, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Naagin, and most recently, Suman Indori. She is set to explore a new realm with Zee TV's reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, where the actresses will ditch urban comfort and indulge in household chores, exploring rural life. Ahead of the show, Anita exclusively spoke to us about the concept, the possibility of doing Bigg Boss, and completing 25 years in the industry.
Anita on reality shows
When asked about the reason behind taking up this show, the Naagin actress answers, “Chhoriyan Chali Gaon felt different from anything I’ve done before. The concept was fresh—women stepping out of their comfort zones and adapting to a completely different lifestyle. So yes, I am overwhelmed but really excited as well. It’s something I’ve never explored, and that’s what makes it special. Basically, we have to unlearn our glam city habits and adapt to that village life entirely. Yes, I am nervous for sure. I have seen how mentally and physically draining reality shows can be. But I've always believed in stepping out of my comfort zone once in a while.”

The diva has been a part of early seasons of Khatron Ke Khiladi, and this is her second reality outing. When asked if we will see her doing Bigg Boss, she reacts, “I've been approached a couple of times in the past for it. I was a part of the very first season of Khatron, and now with CGG’s first season as well, I want to tell the world that there’s nothing Anita cannot do—or at least attempt to—until it aligns with my vision. I think they’re great formats, but I haven’t felt ready yet. Never say never though!”
On completing 25 years and going through ups and downs
This month, the actress completed 25 years in showbiz, and her journey has been a roller coaster ride. Talking about how she has dealt with low moments, she says, “It feels surreal. 25 years is a long time, but it genuinely flew by. Overall, the journey has been full of ups and downs, but I have learnt a lot. There have been phases when self-doubt has crept in—the pressure to stay relevant, to look a certain way—it gets overwhelming. If I had to change one thing, it would be how I let whatever people said affect me. I wish I was kinder to the person I was becoming.”
Apart from being an actor, the Kkavyanjali actress also manages her mommy duties towards Aaravv. When asked about how motherhood changed her, she shares, “I think it's high time we prioritise mental health and family time. For me, being a mother changed a lot of things. Now, I pick projects that allow me to be present for my child and my family.”
