Dharmesh Yelande may have judged many dance reality shows, but the choreographer-dancer is well-aware that sitting alongside Madhuri Dixit-Nene on the judges’ panel is an experience that is unparalleled. Mentor in the latest season Dance Deewane 3, Yelande says, “This is my biggest project, post the lockdown. Sitting besides Madhuri ma’am to judge a show is a different feeling.”

Meanwhile, having spent a fair share of years as a dancer in the industry, Yelande is ready to follow in mentor Remo D’Souza’s footsteps and take to direction. “In 2022, my web series will go on floors. I have been developing a story that I will also be directing. Of late, I have been watching a lot of films and series.  I am keen to go behind the camera.” His script has already found a fan in D’Souza, who encouraged him to refine it before they kick off production work. “I am currently busy with the recce for the series.”

News of D’Souza’s heart attack last year inevitably took his industry-friends, including Yelande, by surprise. “He is recovering,” says the dancer, adding, “He must rest for two more months before he can bounce back.”
