Zee TV's famous show 'Kumkum Bhagya', which has been a staple of Indian television since 2014, is apparently coming off the air. Zee looks to be mixing things up with a new slate of programming.

The Ektaa Kapoor show has been a big success for the channel, with a passionate fan base that has grown over time. However, ratings have recently been declining, so the channel decided it was time to call it quits. Ektaa's three big shows, Kundali Bhagya, Kumkum Bhagya and Bhagya Lakshmi, wrap up from the channel's Top shows list.

Why is Kumkum Bhagya going off-air?

According to reports, 'Kumkum Bhagya' will be replaced with 'Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan', a new television show. Dreamiyata Entertainment, led by Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta, produced the show, which stars Amandeep Sidhu, Sheezan Khan, and Shubhangi Latkar. The show is currently awaiting a time slot, but it appears that it will fill the void left by 'Kumkum Bhagya'.

According to a source close to the production told IWMBuzz, "Kumkum Bhagya, which currently stars Pranali Rathod, Namik Paul, and Akshay Bindra as fourth-generation leads, may soon go off television. The decision to cancel the long-running show was taken in response to a dip in TRPs."

Current track of the show

Currently, the story revolves around its newest leads, Prarthana and Shivansh. Interestingly, Prarthana is the great-granddaughter of Pragya, the show’s original female protagonist. The characters are currently played by Pranali Rathod and Namik Paul. Kumkum Bhagya has spanned 11 years and reached the 3000-episode mark, exploring nearly every classic theme seen in Indian television dramas. Kundali Bhagya, the show's spin-off, ended its run just a few months earlier.

Recently, Pranali and Namik shot a rain sequence, delighting their fans, while sharing about the experience, Pranali said, "This rain sequence was meticulously planned by the production team, direction team, and the creative team. They ensured everything was executed seamlessly. It was a demanding shoot, standing in the rain for a few hours tested our stamina, but it was entirely worth it. The sequence blends beautifully with the current show narrative, and since I have a soft spot for the monsoon season, I genuinely enjoyed bringing this moment and scenes to life on screen."
