Elvish Yadav has reacted on the incident a few days after Janhvi Kapoor denounced the attack, stating that it requires "serious attention" rather than only making statements.

Elvish took to his X handle to pen a note slamming the lynching incident, he wrote, “This is not just about posting stories or making a few statements. The situation demands serious and sustained attention. I raised this concern back in 2021 and in 2024 through a video about the condition of Bangladeshi Hindus, and I am reiterating it today. The state of minorities in Bangladesh is deeply alarming and cannot be ignored any longer.”
Earlier, celebs Janhvi Kapoor, Munawar Faruqui, Manoj Joshi, Jaya Prada and others condemned the lynching of Dip Chandra Das and the atrocities Hindus faced in Bangladesh. Manoj Joshi also called out the selective outrage on the incident. He told ANI, "Everyone comes forward when something happens in Gaza or Palestine, but when a Hindu is killed in Bangladesh, it is very sad that nobody comes forward. Time will give its answer."

Protests have taken place close to Bangladeshi missions in India as a result of the incident. Due to security concerns at the high commissions in Bangladesh and India, both nations have called in each other's envoys. In the meantime, large crowds of people protested the killing in at least seven Indian towns. New Delhi, Kolkata, Bhopal, Jammu, Agartala, Mumbai, and Hyderabad are a few among these.

The incident happened on the evening of December 18 in the Jamirdia Dubaliapara region near the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. According to a report in the Dhaka Tribune, police investigations and the testimonies of local officials and family members indicate that the lynching was caused by a conflict at work.
