The most recent episode of Sampoorna showed a darker, more complicated side of Dr. Aakash Malhotra, played by actor Aham Sharma, which shocked audiences. Aakash's change from the perfect spouse and doctor to a layered villain is a big change in the story, and Sharma is quite happy about it.

Aham talks about his character's arc

“Yes, my character Aakash in Sampoorna is out there in the open,” Sharma shared. “This is exactly why I took on the show—it offers a full spectrum as an actor.” From the outset, Sharma knew the role would evolve beyond its initial one-dimensional portrayal. “You want variations, shades, depth in your character. It gives you more range, more dynamics to express yourself,” he explained.

The actor sees Aakash's journey as a dual character that lets him explore both flamboyance and intensity. “The character will go full throttle,” he said, adding that the upcoming episodes promise even more excitement. Sharma wants viewers to understand that an actor needs to play a lot of different roles to evolve. “Otherwise, it limits you. I’m happy this opportunity came my way, and so far, people are appreciating it.”

When it comes to preparing for a character, Sharma dives deep into the psyche of his characters. “You have to find the soul of the character, not just play a cliché. There are reasons for everything in life,” he said. Sharma believes in bridging the gap between actor and character to show a fully complete human being, whether it's Karna, Manmarziyan, Brahmarakshas, or any of the other characters he's done in the past. As Sampoorna enters an exciting new chapter, Aham Sharma's portrayal of Aakash is sure to change how people think about him and have fans on the edge of their seats.

Aham on doing Sampoorna

Earlier, Aham had shared, “It feels amazing to be part of a show like Sampoorna. It carries a very strong message, especially for women, and creates awareness about their struggles. I hope it reaches the masses and inspires people to learn from it. It’s remarkable how Star Plus and the makers have created something so impactful on this scale. From the screenplay to the execution, the performances, and cinematography  the communication with the audience will come across very effectively. I’m very happy to be part of it, and I believe it will resonate not only in our country but across the globe.”
