Amar Upadhyay, who has reprised his iconic role as Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, spoke to mid-day about his birthday plans and fond memories. This year, he plans a low-key celebration with close family and friends

Amar Upadhyay is currently back with his iconic character Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. As the actor makes his birthday special with the show, mid-day exclusively got in touch with him to know his birthday plans. He even recalled the fondest memories from all these years and shared what he will do this time.

Amar shared his birthday plans this year, "I am shooting tomorrow, of course, I don't know what the plans are on the sets, but definitely be celebrating with my family. I don't do it on a grand scale, but my family plans would be with close family and friends around 15-20 people would gather. We would go out for dinner or something, or maybe celebrate it at home."
Amar shares his fondest birthday memory
When asked about his fondest memories, he said, "A couple of years back, my family threw a surprise party for me, with all my friends coming in. About 40-50 people had come over to my house, and I didn't know about it; they had kept it secret. And everybody had come, some people had come from Pune, from Delhi, everywhere, and I didn't know about it. And they were kept in the hotel, and I thought they hadn't planned anything. I came a little late from the shoot, and the whole house was packed. And it was really fun, I think it was about 8-10 years back."
Amar further added, "It was amazing, and it lasted till the hour of the morning. I think we partied till 5, and people were singing, dancing, the guitar was playing, and a local singer had also come in who sang really well. He was hired, and it was great fun. It was an amazing party I've had. I had my house, where I'm living in Versova, in the same place. The party was hosted at home only. It was one of the most memorable birthday parties. All the friends, surprisingly, were coming for my birthday, from Delhi and from Pune, and all the local friends around from Mumbai, and a few relatives who were close to us, were there. It was so beautiful, and it was really a pleasant surprise for me that one of my friends, my wife, and one of my friends from the building planned it all. I can never forget that birthday."
Amar shared he has been lucky not to be pranked or get weird gifts on his birthday, "I haven't got a weird gift at all. I have usually received normal gifts, I've got some flowers, some clothes, or some musical instrument or something like that. But nothing, nothing weird. Have been away from the pranks."
