After a long wait, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary has finally stepped into one of television’s most iconic franchises as the new Naagin. Speaking to mid-day, the actor opened up about her journey, her excitement, and what audiences can expect from her character.

Priyanka Chahar Choudhary on bagging Naagin 7

Calling the experience surreal, Priyanka said, “It’s an amazing feeling, I can’t even describe it. This is the number one show on TV and anyone wants to be a part of Naagin. I got the opportunity and I’m really blessed.” She expressed gratitude to producer Ektaa Kapoor, adding, “Thank you so much to Ektaa ma’am for choosing me as her Naagin.”

Reflecting on her career graph from Udaariyaan to Bigg Boss and now Naagin, Priyanka described her journey as fulfilling. “It’s been a very good journey. I always say the journey is beautiful because if there are mistakes, you learn something, and if you do something right, that’s a very good thing,” she shared.

Addressing comparisons between her pre-transformation look and characters like Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, Priyanka dismissed the similarities. “I didn’t find any resemblance. This is very different. You will see it when you watch the show,” she said, pointing out how her character’s styling and personality set her apart.

Talking about fan-made edits and reels of her Naagin look, the actor said she enjoys watching them. “They make such beautiful edits and take so much time. They had some interesting ,” she smiled.

Priyanka also offered insight into her character, highlighting its emotional depth. “She is a Naagin, not a human, but the human heart is still intact. That keeps her connected,” she explained. Describing the transformation, she added, “Before becoming a Naagin, she is naive and dreams of a job and a life. After that, she becomes fearless, powerful, with anger and revenge driving her.”

On turning the gap into prep period

On lessons learnt along the way, Priyanka emphasised patience. “I have learnt patience. I don’t call it a waiting period, I call it my prep period,” she said.

For those waiting for their big break, her advice was simple and heartfelt. “Just work on yourself. If you are not working, it’s okay, but don’t waste time. Go to classes, prepare yourself, so that when an opportunity comes, you are ready,” she concluded.
