Television actor Jaswir Kaur, who is currently seen in the popular show Anupamaa, recently spoke about one of the most difficult phases of her life and career. In a candid conversation on a podcast, the actor revealed that she was unexpectedly asked to leave the long running crime show CID, a decision that left her emotionally and financially shaken for several years.

Jaswir Kaur on being forced to quit CID

Jaswir shared that she had been working on CID for nearly two years and had become deeply invested in the show and her character. According to her, the work schedule was extremely demanding. She recalled that she would often shoot continuously, sometimes for weeks without a break. Despite the pressure, she remained committed to her work and tried to keep up with the pace of television production.

However, things suddenly changed. Jaswir said that one day she was called into the office and informed that she would have to leave the show. The news came as a shock because she had not expected such a decision after working so consistently on the project. The abrupt exit left her confused and deeply hurt, marking the beginning of a very challenging period in her life.

The aftermath of leaving CID was particularly difficult for the actor. Jaswir revealed that she went through a phase of depression and struggled to find stable work. She described the next several years as a time when survival itself became her primary focus. For nearly seven years after her exit from the show, she relied mostly on small cameo roles and occasional appearances just to sustain herself financially.

Facing financial stress and suffering from depression

During that period, she also faced severe financial stress. Jaswir recalled moments when she had very little money, even as regular expenses and taxes continued to pile up. The uncertainty about her future in the industry often left her emotionally drained, and she admitted that there were times when she would sit alone and cry, unsure about what lay ahead.

Despite the hardships, Jaswir said she tried to stay hopeful and keep moving forward. Over time, she slowly began rebuilding her career through smaller roles and appearances in different television shows. Her persistence eventually paid off, allowing her to regain stability in the industry.

Today, Jaswir is once again visible on television through Anupamaa and continues to work steadily. Looking back at those difficult years, she believes the experience taught her resilience and strengthened her determination to survive in a competitive industry where stability is never guaranteed.
