Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stint is Karan Kundrra's first in a fiction show in the past three years.

Karan Kundrra recently joined Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Ranveer, Sirat (Shivangi Joshi)'s ex-lover. This is the actor's first stint in a fiction show in the past three years. He revealed that he is happy to come on board the show because it's for a limited time. He said, "YRKKH is one of the longest-running TV shows and has been on-air for 12 years now, but for me, it's new because my journey just started. Also, I choose to be associated with a show only for a definite period and then move on to the next one."

Karan further added, "Playing a character for too long becomes boring for the actor and the audience both. I feel one should not exceed the life of character and the best part is that my track in the show won’t be dragged."

Priyamvada Kant also recently joined the cast of the show as Riya. Priyamvada is the winner of the twelfth season of MTV Splitsvilla. She made her on-screen debut with Bairi Piya in 2010 and she was also part of Tiger Shroff-Kriti Sanon-starrer Heropanti. Talking about her role in YRKKH, she said, "I’m glad people relate to me and not just to the characters I play. They know me for who I am and follow my work and the stuff I do on social media and I’m being able to influence their life is a good way."
Produced under Shahi's banner Director's Kut Productions, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai airs on Star Plus. It features Shivangi Joshi, Mohsin Khan, Swati Chitnis, Sachin Tyagi, Niyati Joshi, Harsha Kandeparkar, Ali Hassan, Shilpa Raizada, Niyati Joshi, Hrishikesh Pandey, Ashita Dhawan and Priyamvada Kant.
