After a power-packed year, Rahul Bhat is showing no signs of slowing down. Riding high on the award-season sweep for his character Inspector Tomar in Black Warrant, where he emerged as one of the most celebrated performers across major platforms, the actor has seamlessly moved into his next big chapter.

Rahul Bhat shoots for his next project

Fresh off the critical and commercial success of Kennedy, Rahul is currently shooting for his upcoming show with Netflix, further cementing his position as one of the most compelling actors straddling both global streaming and auteur-driven cinema. With back-to-back successes and a packed shooting schedule, 2026 is clearly shaping up to be Rahul Bhat’s busiest and biggest year yet.

Taking to his Instagram stories, he shared a behind-the-scenes photo of his new look from the project. In the photo, he was seen sporting long hair and a beard. His face was bleeding, with multiple cuts across his cheek, nose, and forehead. His neck also appeared bruised. He wrote, “While the world celebrates holi in colors, some corners of the world are still stained in blood. Filming today. The irony isn't lost on me.”

Rahul Bhat on working with Anurag Kashyap

Talking about working with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Rahul Bhat recalled the shoot of the climax scene. “The last scene is very characteristic of Anurag,” the actor recalled. “The character is completely alone, and I was emotionally drained while performing it. It was a very difficult and vulnerable space to be in.”

What happened next stayed with him long after the cameras stopped rolling. During an intense close-up, he noticed that Anurag had stepped away from the monitor. Instead, he was sitting right beside him. “He was holding my right hand while I was crying and performing the shot,” the actor shares. “He was right there with me in that moment.”

“He truly understands his actors,” he says. “It’s always a pleasure working with him.”

Rahul Bhat's upcoming projects

Apart from the upcoming Netflix project he is currently shooting, Rahul Bhat has a packed and diverse slate ahead.

He will be seen in an untitled romantic drama shot in Nainital opposite Dia Mirza, directed by Kanwal Sethi; The Wives by Madhur Bhandarkar, co-starring Mouni Roy; and a Hollywood Production Lost & Found in Kumbh, directed by Mayur Puri, produced by Cristy Coor Beasley and Rashana Shahshot during the Maha Kumbh. He also essays Sanjay Gandhi in Summer of 76, helmed by Sudhir Mishra.
