Aasif Khan clarifies that he did not suffer a heart attack

During a conversation with The Times Of India, Aasif shared that he was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), adding that he is feeling much better now and is on the path to recovery. Aasif told the portal, "So first of all, I want to clarify—it was not a heart attack. It was gastroesophageal reflux disease. The symptoms felt like a heart attack, but I’m totally fit."

He further mentioned that doctors have advised him to make a few lifestyle changes, including dietary adjustments and regular exercise.“I’ve been told to stop eating dal baati, limit my non-veg, and work out more. I don’t think it should impact my work. Something or the other happens in everyone’s life. People move on," he added

The incident reportedly occurred after Aasif Khan drove all day from his hometown in Rajasthan to Mumbai. Later in the evening, after his long journey, he experienced chest pain and fainted in the bathroom. He was then rushed to the hospital.

After conducting some medical tests, doctors advised Aasif to make lifestyle changes, particularly in his diet. Nevertheless, despite the scare, Aasif remains optimistic and assured that the episode will not interfere with his professional commitments. He also shared, “I was away from my phone, and it felt good. I’ve got so many messages—it’ll take me a month to reply to everyone. I didn’t expect so much love. It was very emotional."

Aasif shared his health update

Earlier on Tuesday, July 15, Aasif took to his Instagram stories and penned a note, stating that he is in better condition. The actor wrote, “Over the past few hours, I’ve been dealing with some health issues that required hospitalisation. I’m grateful to share that I’m now on the road to recovery and feeling much better”.

He further noted, “I truly appreciate all the love, concern, and well-wishes. Your support means the world to me. I’ll be back very soon. Until then, thank you for keeping me in your thoughts”.

Aasif Khan is known for his roles like Ganesh in the hit web series Panchayat and Kabir M in Paatal Lok. He was also seen in series like Jamtara, Pagglait, Kakuda, and the recent horror-comedy The Bhootni. He started off as a junior artist in films like Ready and Agneepath, before building a steady and versatile career in both film and OTT platforms.
