Actor Ali Fazal is all set to surprise audiences yet again. This time, the actor will be seen embracing his lover boy avatar in the much-anticipated Lust Stories 3, a far cry from his rugged Guddu Bhaiya avatar, marking his return to romance in a contemporary, emotionally nuanced space.
Ali was last seen in Metro In Dino, where he played a soft, heartwarming musician navigating love and vulnerability. Continuing this romantic trajectory, Lust Stories 3 showcases Ali in a refreshingly intimate and expressive role, paired opposite Radhika Madan. The film is helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Shakun Batra, known for his sensitive storytelling and deep exploration of human relationships.

Sharing his excitement about the project, Ali Fazal said, “Lust Stories 3 came to me at a time when I was craving something emotionally honest and personal. Shakun has such a rare way of observing human behaviour; he doesn’t direct scenes, he lets them breathe. Working with him was incredibly fulfilling because he pushes you to be truthful rather than dramatic. This story explores love, desire, and vulnerability in a very real way, and I genuinely enjoyed slipping back into a romantic space after a long time.”
He further added, “There’s something freeing about playing a lover boy again, but in today’s context, flawed, sensitive, and emotionally aware. I think audiences will see a very different, softer side of me, and that’s what excites me the most about Lust Stories 3.”

Ali Fazal returns to theatre
On January 27, Ali Fazal presented the play, Mahanagar Jugnu, written and directed by playwright Amitosh Nagpal. The production, starring Neha Saraf and Swanandi Tikekar, was staged as part of the ongoing Le’ Chakallas Festival in Malad, Mumbai.
Theatre has held a special place for Ali Fazal, who used to perform frequently at Prithvi Theatre before films came calling. “Theatre has always been my first love. It’s where I learned to listen, to observe, and to truly inhabit a character. Turning presenter for Mahanagar Jugnu feels like coming full circle. Amitosh has written something that is deeply intimate yet universally resonant. Le’ Chakallas, with its spirit of rebellion and community, is the perfect home for a story like this,” said the actor.
