Television star Tejasswi Prakash has stepped into the OTT space with Psycho Saiyaan, marking a significant new chapter in her career. In the series, she plays Charu, a layered and calculating woman who finds herself entangled in a dangerous game with a menacing man named Huntry, played by Ravi Kishan, while also manipulating Anud Singh Dhaka’s character as part of her survival strategy.

In an exclusive chat with Midday, Tejasswi opened up about sharing screen space with Ravi Kishan and how his unpredictable performance style kept her constantly on her toes.

Tejasswi Prakash talks about working with Ravi Kishan

“Huntry as a character is a very scary character. He’s so unpredictable. And especially being played by such a legend like Ravi Kishan. He’s done it so well,” she said, clearly in awe of her co-star’s craft.

What made the experience even more thrilling, she revealed, was Ravi Kishan’s spontaneous approach to acting. “Even when he does a scene, he’s very unpredictable because every take is different. Aur wo mujhe bolte the, ‘yaar mein khud hi bhujata, main ne pichle take mein kya kiya hai.’ So inko edit pe bahut problem hoti hai,” she laughed.

For Tejasswi, that meant constantly adapting. “And me as an actor, who’s supposed to react, all my reactions also change. But then it’s a lot of fun because with every take that he does differently, only makes it better with every take. Which makes me also challenge myself and accept whatever is given to me and react in that way.”

The learning, she says, has been invaluable. “So through that, I’ve learnt a lot through Ravi sir. And I will always remember that.”

Talking about Charu, Tejasswi Prakash mentioned

Talking about Charu’s psyche, Tejasswi explained why her character seeks help instead of confronting Huntry alone. “If I could handle Huntry on my own, I wouldn’t need all of these other helps. The fact is Charu knows what he’s capable of. Charu has seen the way he treats his partner, the way he’s treated his previous wife. Charu is extremely scared of him.”

She added, “If Charu could handle Huntry, then she really didn’t need a Kartik or a Manga. Only a psycho-saiyan can handle Huntry. No, even Manga or Kartik or anybody. But he is not an easy character to fool.”

Describing their dynamic as a strategic battle, she shared, “We’re the black and white of the chessboard. And every move that he plays, the queen from this side is me bringing in another move. And I have to use my pyade to get out of it. He doesn’t need to. He is the king of the other side and he can handle it all alone. But the queen of this side will need a lot of support to get out of it. And then of course later you know if I do get out or if I don’t get out or whatever.”

With Psycho Saiyaan, Tejasswi delivers a performance rooted in fear, strategy and survival, holding her ground in a gripping psychological face-off.
