Catch the two-day fiesta of Classical dance and music, titled Amritanjali Festival that will be held in the city, this weekend. Committed to the cause of keeping the age-old tradition and culture of India alive, Bharatnatyam dancer Shashikala Ravi started the festival in April 2012.

Ravi also happens to be the founder-director of Amritanjali School of Bharatnatyam in the city. "Classical dance and music is a part of our rich culture and it is our duty to make sure that it is not lost by the western influence. Our tradition is deep-seated in devotion and helps in elevating one to higher spiritual levels", says the renowned danseuse.
