Cities have always been a magnet for artists, since they are buzzing hubs of activity and draw people from all over.
Exploring this theme further is Field of Vision, an exhibition curated by Jasmine Shah Varma, where she has brought together six artists whose works feature urban narratives.

It includes works by Anjana Mehra, Gautam Bhatia, Indrapramit Roy, Jaideep Mehrotra, Meera Devidayal and Shilpa Gavane.
Apart from the subject matter, the city also figures in terms of visual language, motifs and iconography.
The artists have depicted city-specific emblems such as plastic bags, migrants, real estate advertisements in newspapers, a lit-up city and fireworks at night, the daily routine and the din of electronic communication.
These works have been executed across mediums and include paintings, sculptures, mixed media and photographs.
