Many Mumbaikars are making their annual pilgrimage to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/lifestyle/culture/photo/in-photos-bandra-fair-2025-newly-renovated-mount-marys-basilica-looks-magnificent-as-devotees-visit-107398" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bandra's Mount Mary's Basilica</a> this September to celebrate the Nativity of Our Lady, also known as the birthday of Mother Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.
Every year, the observance starts with Novenas, a devotional prayer that is held leading up to the birthday observed on September 8.
Unlike <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/lifestyle/culture/photo/photos-bandra-fair-2025-as-people-visit-mount-marys-basilica-this-week-here-are-other-churches-dedicated-to-mother-mary-107312" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">many churches in Mumbai</a>, Mount Mary's Basilica has it in the nine days leading up to the feast day, observed on the first Sunday after September 8. &nbsp;
This year, the Novenas are being held from September 4 to September 12, and the feast will be celebrated on September 13. It also marks the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/lifestyle/culture/photo/in-photos-bandra-fair-2026-check-dates-significance-timings-uniqueness-and-travel-tips-112886" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">start of the Bandra Fair for 2026</a>, which not only sees devotees but also people of fall faith enjoy the festivities.&nbsp;&nbsp;
While devotees are already making their way to the church from Friday, the Novena and vernacular and feast mass timings and complete schedule are as follows:&nbsp;
