"My friendship with ribbon embroidery started about eight years ago when a dear friend lent me a book on basic ribbon embroidery by Ann Cox," shares artist Mohna Paranjpe, who continues, "That was the beginning of a wonderful journey which included finding all the material locally and learning as well as creating new designs." Paranjpe recalls that practising ribbon embroidery has been exasperating but her patience and perseverance have eventually paid off.

Her family and friends formed a constant critical appreciation group, which encouraged her to learn more and do better but also suggested interesting additions with each frame. "Gradually, I learnt to combine fabric and ribbon painting along with the embroidery to get better effects," she says.
