<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/lifestyle/culture/article/mumbai-comic-con-2026-sees-comic-book-and-anime-fans-come-together-to-celebrate-pop-culture-and-fandom-yet-again-23630083" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Comic Con India</a> is set to begin its 2026&ndash;27 season in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) on October 10 and 11 at Kalam Convention Centre, making its debut in the city.
The Vizag edition will mark the beginning of the comic book festival that will travel to cities across the country in the coming months, while expanding to new metro and tier 2 cities, making pop culture experiences more accessible to fans across India.&nbsp;
Following the announcement, Shefali Johnson, CEO, Comic Con India, said, "Visakhapatnam has a strong connection with Telugu cinema, but its fandom culture is now expanding beyond films. With growing anime, cosplay, and student communities, Vizag is emerging as a vibrant pop culture hub. We are excited to begin another chapter of Comic Con India, and this time, we wanted to start the season in Vizag, a city where fandom culture is steadily growing. The city has a deep connection with its own <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai-guide/things-to-do/article/immerse-in-all-things-anime-at-this-convention-in-mumbai-this-weekend-23646449" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">pop culture, </a>from beloved Telugu classics like Budugu to newer forms of content and art. We want to bring these local stories and cultural influences to the same platform alongside new-age formats, and celebrate them together."&nbsp;

This season, Comic Con will once again promise to bring fandoms together, uniting gamers, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai-guide/things-to-do/article/comic-sense-in-bandra-23224099" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">comic book fans</a>, creators, and pop culture enthusiasts under one roof. The return of Comic Con reflects the growing interest in fandom communities across cities. The event continues to create a space where passionate fans, as well as those simply curious about the culture, can come together, discover new interests, and feel part of a wider community.&nbsp;
The previous season travelled across 11 cities and welcomed more than 3.5 lakh attendees, making it the biggest Comic Con India season yet.
