Vicky Roy
What: Listen to Vicky Roy, a 27-year-old documentary photographer, as he shares his experiences and journey from being a ragpicker in New Delhi to becoming a popular artist and inspiration to many. Roy will be sharing his triumphs and mistakes, and talk about how his dream to see the world inspired him to become a photographer. He will also be showcasing a selection of photographs, which won him several fellowships and awards across the world, including a special series on the new World Trade Centre in New York.

How: “I started collecting plastic bottles at a very young age. We would fill them with water and sell for '5 a bottle,” says Roy. He was working as a dishwasher at a restaurant when a social worker rescued him and brought him to the NGO, Salaam Baalak Trust, where he found his passion, and now career — photography.
