In a bid to create awareness about Mumbai's open spaces, the Indian Heritage Society is back with its Art in the Park initiative on April 13, this time in Dadar

Mumbai is dotted with several parks and open spaces that can serve as mediums of community building and as platforms for cultural activities. Taking this thought forward, the Indian Heritage Society (IHC) initiated an event, Art in the Park, in October 2013 at The Priyadarshini Park, Nepean Sea Road. The event saw over 3,000 people come together and enjoy the activities. To give more strength to this idea, IHC is back with their second installment of the event on April 13.

Attendees can participate in art workshops
This time around, the event will be held in Dadar. “We started this to introduce an awareness of our rich culture, and to use open spaces as community hubs in the city. Our first effort was well appreciated and brought over 3,000 children and adults, regardless of their economic status or religion, to participate together,” informs Anita Garware, Chairperson, IHC, anticipating equal enthusiasm from citizens in and around Shivaji Park, Prabhadevi, Dadar, Matunga and central Mumbai.
