London: U2 band members recently offered their new album ‘Songs of Innocence,’ which they took out after five years, for free to the 500 million users of Apple’s iTunes.

The surprise announcement was made at a California event where Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the firm’s latest iPhone6 and a new smartwatch and the band also performed there, the BBC reported.
