Navratri is just around the corner as it is set to take place over nine days from September 22 to October 2. While it is a period of devotion and memories, it is also a period for fun-filled Garba nights that make you bring out your best fashion. While most other festivals are over in one or two days, you can get nine nights to put your best fashion foot forward, keeping up with the pace to the rhythm of garba music, and making it your personal fashion runway.

While anybody can be fashionable, to be the showstopper, you must know what’s best in style. If you want to be the best-dressed person on the floor while playing garba but don’t know where to begin, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Here’s what’s trending this Navratri 2025:

Fusion looks
This look is not for the weak! So, if you’re open to experimenting with your style, this one is for you. It is a mix of modern and traditional. Fusion fashion is all about adding trendy touches to style looks while being equally respectful of the traditional. You can achieve this look by combining the classic chaniya choli with pieces like a corset top, printed blazer, or vest. Pair these with silver oxidised jewellery or with trendy gold statement jewellery, and voilà—you’re the star of the show.

Comfortable and elegant look
We have finally embraced the fact that fashion needs to be comfortable and not painful. As tempting as that bedazzled clothing and footwear look, most aren’t practical to get you through the night with comfort. So, opt for clothing items that are made from softer and comfortable fabrics like cotton or georgette. Breathable and elegant. When it comes to shoes, pick sneakers or block heels over high-heeled stilettos.

Bold contrast look
Everyone is familiar with the nine-days-nine-colour tradition followed during Navratri. But what if there was a way to spice things up and make yourself stand out? With the bold contrast look, it’s possible. Choose your outfits for all nine days as you normally would but add a touch of the complementary colour from the opposite side of the colour wheel. For example, if you're wearing a blue outfit, break up the monotony by incorporating orange or red through your jewellery, tote bag, or shoes.

Classic look
Some people like keeping it classy; for them less is more. So, if you aren’t someone who likes to experiment much when it comes to fashion, you are not alone. You can just opt for the evergreen classics like a traditional Chaniya choli, or its modern counterpart—another Navratri staple—Lehenga choli. Another classic choice is to wear a saree, timeless and simply elegant. Pair it with timeless jewellery and make all heads turn.

Pro-tip: Look for pieces with thread or mirror work because that’s something that never goes out of style. Don’t forget to pair your cool-toned clothes with silver jewellery and warm-toned ones with gold. Matching the tones can truly make or break your outfit.
