For Mumbaikars, K Rustom and Co. Ice Cream parlour is a favourite for their ice cream sandwiches. Anybody who spends time around Churchgate or even passes by will tell you how it is always crowded with not only the young but also the old who want their fill of the sweet treat.

So, it is only fitting patrons of the ice cream hotspot to see it feature in the top 25 on TasteAtlas’s ‘100 Most Iconic Ice Creams’ list in the world in late June.

While there is no particular time to celebrate the Mumbai favourite, it certainly serves as a reminder to celebrate the local flavours that now have a global appeal. The parlour's ice cream that makes it a part of the list is their Mango Sandwich.

Interestingly, there are two other city favourites that feature on the list including Naturals and Apsara. While the deliciously sweet tender coconut from the former makes the list, it is the Guava ice cream from the latter, that also features on the list, from Mumbai’s top ice cream hotspots.

Elsewhere in the country, the popular Gadbad at Mangaluru’s Pabba’s also makes it to the list in the Top 50, followed by the Death By Chocolate at Corner House in Bengaluru.

Italy rules the top of the list with the Crema at Vivoli in Florence taking the top spot. It is the likes of Buotalenti at Badiani, and Ricotta and pear at La Carraia in the same city, that follow next, apart from Bacio di dama at La Romana in Rimini from Italy featuring at the top of the list.
