The last Songwriter Wednesday session for the year will feature Nikhil D&rsquo;Souza, the guitarist, singer-songwriter from Mumbai. The musician has played with bands such as Black Strat Blues and Agnee as well as collaborated with music composers such as Shankar-Ehsan-Loy and Vishal&ndash;Shekhar. Next Wednesday, he is set to enthrall Punekaris with his flawless singing accompanied by Zohran Miranda on the guitar. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/dec/NIKHIL-DSOUZA.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 796px;" /> Nikhil D&rsquo;Souza &ldquo;I will play some of my newer songs that I have written with Jess Cohen. These songs were appreciated by people in other parts of the world and I hope that they are appreciated by the audiences in Pune as well,&rdquo; says D&rsquo;Souza. D&rsquo;Souza&rsquo;s genre can be loosely defined as eclectic acoustic guitar-based Pop. His sound has a full melodic quality to it, mainly due to the use of alternative tunings, favoured by artistes such as Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley. D&rsquo;Souza started out playing the guitar at the age of 12. &ldquo;I remember that I started playing because there was no one else to play while I sang. So it&rsquo;s been 13 years of being in bands as a guitarist mainly, rarely sometimes doing what I like doing best: singing. Good music is made from a lot of genuine feeling, and if you have the gift to make your audience feel what you&rsquo;re feeling, then you&rsquo;re nearly there. I&rsquo;d like to believe I have that ability,&rdquo; he adds.
