I am 28 and have been seeing this guy for the last three years. He is also 28. He hid our relationship from his family, but is now forced to tell them about me as they are insisting that he get married in the near future. As they thought, he did not have anyone on his scene, they have been lining up prospective girls for him. He has even met some of the girls they selected as a suitable match for him. Last week, on my insistence, he took me to his place to meet his family. I felt things went off well, but the next day he told me that they had rejected me. He says he cannot go against his family’s wishes, so it is better we go our way. I was heartbroken and shattered. How could he do this to me after all these years? He took me on a royal ride and backed out all of a sudden. He now avoids meeting me and often does not take my calls. I have told him to try and convince them, but he says it will be an exercise in futility. I think he doesn’t love me anymore. How could he move on so soon leaving me in the lurch?
