The city recently witnessed a host of events as part of the Joy of Giving Week which were devoted to various causes. While the Week has passed, in another similar initiative, five film-makers have come together to spread smiles through their film Stories of Joy. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Joy.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 353px;" /> A poster of the film Stories of Joy The movie features five storytellers narrating five stories. Aspiring filmmakers Noopor Bora, Vibhav Khisthi, Rahul Kulkarni, Yogesh Jagam, Swapnil Kumawat and Prasad Bharadwaj form the group of five who have shot stories on the theme of the joy of giving. Talking about the film, Jagam says, &ldquo;This is our way to spread the joy and bring smiles on people&rsquo;s faces. There are five narratives of around 7-8 minutes each. The entire film spans around 35 minutes.&rdquo; Jagam&rsquo;s story revolves around an ordinary chaiwallah, his routine life and how he sees things from his perspective compared to other upper-class people. Bhujbal, conceptualist of Stories of Joy, says, &ldquo;Filmmakers are not there to just make commercial stuff. Through this initiative, we are trying to convey the idea that a film is also a medium to spread positive ideas in a society. After the first screening this weekend, we will be showing the film in schools, colleges and social organisations.&rdquo;u00a0The initiative is supported by Kiran Vaidya of 7th Standard Motion Pictures, in association with Flying Horse Studios. The film will be screened this weekend followed by an interaction with the filmmakers where they will be accompanied by music director Gandhar Sangoram, editor Shreyas Kulkarni and Vivek Chakre and directors of photography Digvijay Thorat and Tejashree Joshi. u00a0The film will then be screened throughout the year.
