Well, thanks to Awarathon, it does. The app combines gaming with social awareness &mdash; and for the time being (till September 1), the focus is on Indian Armed Forces.

What it&rsquo;s about&nbsp; The app, created by The Madatt Initiative, is available for free download from Google Play Store. Once you have downloaded the app, you are required to sign-in using your email ID. Surprisingly, the app also asks for a contact number, which we think is not necessary since no OTP-based login or transactions happen on the platform. It also asks for your home address and date of birth, which we find too invasive for a game-based app.

Nevertheless, once you have registered, the app takes you straight to the ongoing campaign. Currently, it&rsquo;s running the campaign, The Unknown Soldier, featuring questions on the Indian Armed Forces.
How it works Each correct answer wins you a rupee, which you can use to earn rewards or donate it to a charity of your choice. The app, currently has three donation campaigns, managed by Nations Society for Equal Opportunities for the Handicapped (NASEOH). As for rewards, you get to select from discount coupons from some of the top brands and outlets in the city.
What we like The questions, though are a little difficult for someone who doesn&rsquo;t even know who is the head of the Indian Armed Forces. Still, you can guess your way around and improve your general knowledge on the Indian Armed Forces. Did you know that Indian Army has three colours in its uniform &mdash; black, red and gold? And that the Brahmos missile is named after the river Brahmaputra in India, and river Moskva in Russia?
What we don&rsquo;t Firstly, we found the number of personal questions too intrusive. Secondly, the rewards are subject to terms and conditions. As it turns out, the free coffee that we were excited about is available only after spending R500 at a certain outlet. So, if the app says, free coffee, don&rsquo;t go all jumping around like we did. Lastly, the app refreshes very quickly once you enter a wrong answer, leaving almost no time to read the answers properly. What&rsquo;s the hurry to take us to the next question? A next or back button would be more useful, especially since the idea is to create awareness. NOTE: The Unknown Soldier campaign based on Indian Armed Forces is open till September 1.
