A new report published in Wall Street Journal stated that the much awaited 2017 edition of iPhone 8 might simply come with an OLED curved display by ditching the LCD panel. The report also claimed that Apple has already asked its suppliers to speed up the production of OLED.
As OLED displays are more expensive than the existing LCD panel, iPhone 8 could therefore come with a higher price tag. Apart from the OLED display, Apple iPhone 8 will also feature wireless charging. A well known Apple analyst was quoted saying that iPhone 8 users will be able to charge the phone with a wireless charging system, a technology which is very similar to Apple watches. The wireless speed will also offer faster speed. This wireless charging feature of Apple will be entirely cable free.
According to the reprt, Apple will take the help of Samsung for OLED supply and at the same time it also wants LG Display, Japan Display and Sharp to fasten up production for 2018.
