Mark Hindi Divas with Mashaal Jalao Diye Se, a Hindi play that is based on the Delhi gang rape case and aims to sensitise the public to treat victims with empathy
Hindi Divas, a day thatu00a0celebrates the national language, is celebrated on September 14 every year. This year, to mark the occasion, Swatantra Theatre, in association with FTII, will be staging a Hindi play that stresses on the search for a safe place for women. u00a0The play is titled Mashaal Jalao Diye Se, and is a tribute to Damini, who was the victim of the Delhi gang rape case (December 16, 2012).u00a0The play has also been selected for the second Cultural Olympiad in Dubai this year and performed at the Women Summit, which was held at the city-based Hyatt hotel in June.u00a0“We celebrate Hindi Divas every year and we decided to stage this play keeping social awareness in mind,” said Abhijeet Choudhary, the director of the play.
