How many times have you roamed around Mumbai in search of a 'sulabh shauchalaya' (public toilet) when your bladder was just about to burst? How many times have you noticed people peeing on the footpaths of Mumbai? Well, if you have been witnesses to such incidences, now is the time to call it an end. All thanks to the mobile application called 'Mumbai Toilet Locator'. The 'Mumbai Toilet Locator' app launched by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will help citizens to locate toilets across Mumbai at the tip of their fingers. The app is designed for Android phones and can be easily downloaded from Google Play Store.

BMC has connected with over 800 pay-and-use toilets on the 'Mumbai Toilet locator App' through GPS. More locations will be added in the future, a senior official from the Solid Waste Management department has said. Contradicting the initiative by BMC, an RTI activist said that the civic body should rather concentrate on keeping the toilets clean and hygienic.

The app was launched by municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta.
