Narayan Nerulkar started this store near Dadar’s railway station (western exit), 76 years ago. Today, it is run by the third generation of Nerulkars. Ideal Book Store offers over a lakh Marathi titles on genres across fiction, non-fiction, biographies, health, astrology, cooking, childcare and religion.

They also offer discounts on orders worth '200 and above. In the vicinity is the 103 year-old Dadar Sarvajanik Vachanalaya, a library that is home to over 75,000 Marathi language books.
