A start-up by a team of graduates from IIT-Bombay and St Xavier&rsquo;s College, the portal uses humour through videos, photographs as well as fun games and pop culture to teach children core concepts from their textbooks. Currently, the portal aims to teach three subjects &mdash; Mathematics, English and Science &mdash; to students of fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades in all the five Boards (CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE and SSC).
Vaibhav Devanathan, its founder, says, &ldquo;We met teachers and invested in the recommended textbooks as per the board. Then, we conducted over 250 testing sessions for the content and took 2,300 students&rsquo; feedback to understand what was funny and educative.&rdquo;
When we ask why his team chose to include fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade in this initiative, he replies, &ldquo;We started off with them because, in these standards, there is a focus on learning as opposed to only marks, which is the case in grades ninth and tenth.&rdquo; A user can browse through seven hours of free demo, post which one can purchase either single subject or three-subject login.
