Easter, I realised, isn't a simple festival. And trying to play the Easter Bunny isn't an easy job in the Capital either. I wanted to bring you the best Easter meals that are happening in town. Unfortunately, Easter feasts aren't as simple as Navratra thalis springing up all around. In my quest I landed up at Urban Cafe in Khan Market which was one of the few restuarants in town offering a specially crafted Easter lunch. Did I find what I was looking for? Read on.
Shake it baby
What makes for a good Easter feast? Sitting here I must say the long string of IPL banners hanging overhead and sitting below it the long train of housewives celebrating their kitty party.u00a0 Uninhibited raunchy jokes, the latest scandal about their neighbours and the newest collection of high heels in a south Delhi mall. I wouldn't have traded this joyous ambience for a kingdom.
Add to that their shakes. The Bailey's Irish Cream Shake is like sitting next to Mae West and hearing her narrate one of the early risque plays she wrote (May the Lord forgive me). The Oreo Cookie Shake is equally sinful if not more (my apologies again).
Take a deep breath and drag hard on the straw till you make that loud annoying sound your mother hated. You'll earn murderous looks from theu00a0 housewives but when the shake hits the spot in your head you'll know what I mean.
