Home-grown smartphone maker Micromax launched its Canvas Laptab personal computing device at Rs 14,999 making its entry into the new segment, aims to position itself across "screen sizes" as the number of Internet users in India rise rapidly.

Though the company makes about 90 percent of its revenue from phones, it plans to ramp up its non-mobile offerings including tablets, televisions, and 10-to-15 inch devices like the Laptab in the PC segment.
