London-based artist Elizabeth Drury's solo debut in the city is a play on perception, the uncertainty of memory and the anxieties of change. The young artist, who graduated from the Royal College of Art last year, will show 12 graphite and pastel works on paper based on the traditions of still life. Drury was selected for the Travers Smith Award Programme and works with graphite and the desaturation of familiar colour, creating a personal interpretation between looking and responding to objects. "Objects are dragged through sets that sit somewhere between banal reality and playful childhood illusion," she states.
