After her smash track, Glassy, and several Bollywood hits including Paisa Phek from Johnny Gaddar and Char Baj Gaye from Faltu, Rapper and Hip-Hop artist Hard Kaur is back with her second album. Apart from collaborations with Mika and Lehmber Hussainpuri, there&rsquo;s Desi Dance that she recorded with D12 (which Eminem was a part of, previously) two years back. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/oct/DPP07DC04140B1708.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 621px; " /> What took you so long to come up with your second album? Since I did Johnny Gaddar, thanks to Shankar (Mahadevan), the song did well and everyone lined up. I enjoyed doing Jhalak (Dikhla Ja, dance reality show), because dancing was important to me. I was ticking things off a list &mdash; doing a film was also on that list. In the last two-three years, music has changed. There was a time when you would buy a Bollywood and a non-Bollywood album. There is not much support for that now; even music channels play Bollywood mostly. When you release your own stuff, not many look at you, but when you do Bollywood, people notice. I wanted people to know Hip-Hop; the only way was through Bollywood. What can we expect from P.LA.Y.? Expect a celebration from this album. The earlier album, Supawoman was about my struggles as I was still trying to make it. That album explained my journey till now. I am at a happier place now. I am thankful to god that I have a good way to make a living. So, every song is a happy party song. There&rsquo;s no depression. That&rsquo;s why I have called it P.L.A.Y. as that&rsquo;s what I want people to do! <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/oct/hard-kaur-2.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 462px; " /> P.L.A.Y. releases on October 16 Tell us about your collaborations in the album, especially with D12? I had to send a track. I recorded a verse and a chorus, they said, &ldquo;let&rsquo;s get it on&rdquo;. The next thing I knew, I was on a plane to Detroit to record with them. When you have collaborations they usually send their recorded stuff and video from there, there&rsquo;s no maza (fun) in it. It was fun to explain what India is about and what things are famous. Their lyrics are fun; one of the rappers raps: I am not a Raja but a Maharaja, chilling in Bombay sipping on a Maaza. One of the rappers named Bizarre, who is really big, calls himself Big B, and says: I am the Big B cuz am so fat. Once they understand our culture, there is the effort. Unfortunately, Eminem is not on the album but we have other great collaborations with Lehmber Hussainpuri (of Sadi Galli from Tanu Weds Manu). He&rsquo;s one of my oldest friends. Have you experimented with any new genre in this album? I really hate Techno House music. I love Hip Hop, Drum &lsquo;n&rsquo; Bass, Soul, Reggae, Bhangra, Bollywood, but when it comes to Techno and House I am not down with it. I like the soulful version, which has vocals, but not just with beats. With this album, there&rsquo;s a remix where I have tried to experiment with it, there is also an Electro remix by Shane Mendonca (Loy from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy&rsquo;s son), also there&rsquo;s a song called Boyfriend, which is my style of Bollywood. And Peene Do, which is the first single. It will be bigger than Glassy, and is definitely the new 2012 alcohol anthem. Glassy was more Punjabified, while with Peene Do, I have rapped in Bombay slang. You will laugh when you hear it. What next? I do want to have my own clothing line section, my own Hip-Hop brand. We have started with T factory, where we do custom Hip-Hop prints. We also have a clothing line coming up.
