The India Bike Week (IBW), a congregation of bikers from all over the country, is taking place over two days at Vagator in North Goa. Starting from February 2, IBW is all set to be India&#39;s biggest bike festival. The festival will not just see Indian bikers in their Pulsars, Karizmas and Bullets, but it will also feature a selection of vintage bikes like the oldest Triumph in India, a 1914 belt-driven motorcycle, Indian custom bikes, superbikes as well as never-before-seen international rides in the country. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jan/Y2K-Superbike.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 294px;" /> The Y2K superbike There will also be music performances by bands such as Gentleman&rsquo;s Dub Club, Pentagram and Sky Rabbit. Also on the cards is a biker&rsquo;s flea market and lots of fun activities. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a celebration of the brotherhood of Indian bikers that has kept the passion for bikes alive in the country,&rdquo; says Martin Da Costa, CEO of Seventy EMG, who conceptualised the festival. He explains that his aim is to make IBW on par with international festivals like Sturgis Rally in the USA, which sees participation of more than five lakh bikers every year. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jan/Anne_Cornered.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 432px;" /> There will be bike races at IBW &ldquo;Most Indians use their bikes for their daily commute but a lot of people also use them to head out of the city and just enjoy themselves. The IBW is an attempt to recreate that adventure and independence at one place and during one time of the year, when the brotherhood could come together. It doesn&rsquo;t matter whether you own a Pulsar or a Harley Davidson, it&rsquo;s open to all,&rdquo; adds Da Costa. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jan/Mattie-3b1.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 386px;" /> Stunt biker Matte Griffin will be a major attraction at the India Bike Week Among the things that will be featured at the IBW for the first time are the Y2K bike, a customised bike fitted with a Rolls Royce helicopter engine that can go faster than a jet plane, Kunal Balakrishnan&rsquo;s super-charged Royal Enfield bike, which Da Costa says, is going to be India&rsquo;s only entry to the Bonneville flat Salt race track in Utah, USA and an on-the-spot Biker Build-off, which will see three teams compete for India&rsquo;s first Biker Build-off title. &ldquo;The festival will also include a special section called The Big Trip Cinema, which will not only screen films and documentaries featuring biker journeys around the world, but will also give visitors a chance to meet some popular Indian bikers like Subhash Chandra Bose, popularly known as Bullet Bose, who will be felicitated at the festival,&rdquo; said Da Costa. <h2 class="footer_style"> On: February 2 and 3 At: Vagator, North Goa Entry Rs 3,000 (weekend pass), Rs 1,650 (daily pass) Log on to: Indiabikeweek.inu00a0</h2>
