The Ishanya Foundation is presenting The Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair to support Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Self Help Groups (SHGs) dedicated to support the financially challenged and differently-abled. The sixth edition of the fair will feature items made by over 100 SHGs and NGOs from across the state. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Floating-candles.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 333px;" /> Floating candles Some of the products on display include traditional Paithani and Tussar silk sarees, jewellery, cane products, candles, diyas, terracotta products, Diwali sweets and snacks, handmade cards, torans, organic foodu00a0and more. Moreover, foodies can feast on items like Pithala Bhakri, Thalipeeth, Puran Poli and more at the live food counters.u00a0Watch out for the products made by the inmates of the Yerwada prison. It will comprise leather products like purses, textiles, towels, bed sheets as well as products made by carpenters in the jail. Sanjay Virade, who is one of the founders of the Yeola Cluster near Nashik, said &ldquo;We exhibit Paithani sarees here. We will introduce new colours as well as new patterns as per the suggestions of people from last year. Though there cannot be major changes made in the patterns, we try to bring out something new every year. Other than sarees, we also have purses and kurtis made of Paithani.&rdquo; <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Organic-honey.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 627px;" /> Organic honey Adds Mareshwar Rusil Solkute from Hrishikesh&rsquo;s Durga Mata Tussar Silk Cluster, &ldquo;The sarees that we bring here are directly from the weavers, so the cost is less.&rdquo; u00a0His statement is supported by Prashant Ramchandra Sawant who is from the Sahyog Pariwar. &ldquo;This fair helps rural people earn a decent income and urban people get access to authentic material at reasonable prices. We offer honey collected by the scientific method by trained people without destroying the bees from the tribal areas of Maharashtra. The range of honey includes Amrutyog honey, honey byproducts, bee products, organic Amla candy, unifloral and multifloral types of honey, he says. Parul Mehta, founder-trustee, Ishanya Foundation, says, &ldquo;Since its inception in 2008, there have been more and more NGOs coming forward every year. The theme this year is heart-to-hand which means that the weavers make it with all their heart and hand it over to the buyers directly.
