U2 fans in the city can rejoice because as part of the The 100 Pipers Tribute -- U2, UK-based band Elevation will perform a tribute to the iconic band. The band members fondly connect themselves with the famous Irish band (U2) and hence like to be noticed by their names too. Elevation consists of Stuart Wilkinson (Bono), Alan Gillibrand (The Edge), Anthony Elliot (Adam) and Mark Roberts (Larry). The Guide spoke to drummer Mark Roberts, on the band&rsquo;s upcoming performance and their fascination with U2. Excerpts from the interview: <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/sep/Elevation_August_2013.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 257px;" /> Music band Elevation Tell us about the inception of the band and the journey till now. It&rsquo;s been an eventful and interesting journey. We have been together for a very long time. I knew Alan and Tony from way before. When we used to play together, our music sounded a lot like U2, so we decided to create our own band. We met Stuart a little later, so we asked him if he&rsquo;d like to be a part of it. He agreed and two days later we had our own band. Can you tell us about your upcoming performance. Our music is a tribute to the band U2. We pay particular attention to the details of their performance and emulate them in ours. We recreate the power and passion of the U2 experience in our performance. Being one of the most admired U2 tribute bands of the world, what songs have you selected for your gig? We have a wide variety of songs encompassing more than 30 years of U2. We will be performing songs from some of the earliest albums like Out Of Control to the more recent ones. We won&rsquo;t be showcasing any original compositions though. Our original essence and flavour will come to the fore when we do the U2 performance and the audience can see our identity. After performing at several venues around the world, which is your favourite place to perform? Is this the first time you will be performing in India? How do you find the audience here? One of our favourite shows was back in our hometown, Liverpool. There were about 30,000 people cheering us on and it was truly exceptional to perform for them. This is our first time in India. We&rsquo;ve had about five shows and the audience has been really great. It&rsquo;s been a great experience till now and we&rsquo;re truly grateful for this opportunity.
