If it's been long since you took your little ones for a movie, here's a collection of Indo-German films that you might want to consider watching with them

Watching a combo of German films Lilli the Witch 2, Wickie The Mighty Viking and Indian films like I am Kalam and Stanley Ka Dabba seems like a good idea for a pop corn munching break right after Children's Day.

The Goethe Institute takes kids on six days of rollercoaster ride with four animated films,u00a0 with two films screened everyday.

The festival opens with Lilli the Witch 2, directed by Harald Sicheritz and partially shot in India. The 86-minute film is a sequel to The Journey to Mandolan, which revolves around the adventures of Lilly,u00a0 an ordinary girl till she stumbles upon a magic book which turns her into a witch. The film's producers Michael Coldewey, Corinna Mehner and Carolin Dassel will present the film in the festival.

The German film Wickie The Mighty Viking focuses onu00a0 the village boy Wickie who is blessed with a sharp mind and saves his friends from critical situations.

"The films are chosen by the film selection committee and the German films are selected by our German partners Bavarian State Chancellery and FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, Germany, and Suchitra Film Society, Bangalore, under the banner Germany and India 2011 -2012: Infinite Opportunities, keeping the focus on animation, one with a girl as the protagonist and the other with a boy full of actions and colours," says Maureen Gonsalves, the Program Coordinator.

The two Indian films are based on the lives of two young boys. I am Kalam, directed by Nila Madhab Panda, is about an ordinary boy named Chotu, who gets inspired by watching Abdul Kalam parade on television and learning about his childhood as a newspaper boy and decides to call himselfu00a0 Kalam.

Stanley Ka Dabba directed by Amole Gupte is another interesting choice, which focuses on the psychology of kids. The child actor in this film, Amole's son Partho, won the Best Actor Award at the Schlingel International Film Festival in Chemnitz, Germany.
