WhatsApp has introduced a new feature in the iOS version, where users can send and receive animated GIFs, including Live Photos and shorter videos. According to <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2016/11/07/whatsapp-adds-gif-support-in-ios-app/" target="_blank">Techcruch</a>, an integrated GIF search engine has also been added.
Users can now search through GIFs that are available and share them and even mark as Favourites.
A video should be 6 seconds or shorter to be sent as a GIF file, whereas a Live Photo can be sent using the 3D Touch feature from the "Attach" interface, from where users can choose the "Select as GIF" option.
This is a new app update from iTunes.
