Clinical sexologist Dr Prakash Kothari and Counseling Psychologist Rachna Kothari answer your sex-related queries
Q. I’m 21 and getting married to a Doctor. I’m petrified that he might figure I’m not a virgin. I’m having sleepless nights. Please help.
— Big Issue
A. Hymen is not the test of virginity. The hymen might rupture while playing games, doing exercises or using tampons. Hence a woman may not necessarily bleed at the first attempt of sexual intercourse. I can understand your worry about hymen, but it is like making a big issue over a small tissue.
Q. I cannot have sex for more than 2 minutes. Can you suggest medicine to increase the duration?
— Early climax
A. Reaching climax early i.e. early orgasm (premature ejaculation) could be due to over-excitement, hypersensitivity of the glans penis, rarely inflammation of the prostrate or urinary infection or can be a presenting symptom of diabetes. Ideally one needs to identify the cause and then treat. Till that time, you can take Dapoxetine 60 mg (under your doctor’s advice), one tablet one hour before the anticipated act with a glass of water.
