In the dating world, rejection is always discussed from the perspective of the "rejected". But another side gets far less attention. It is the person who has to do the "Don't think this is going anywhere" talk.
Indian dating app QuackQuack conducted a study among 10,398 daters from metros and smaller cities to understand the complicated feelings behind rejecting a match. Respondents said that when the goal is long-term commitment, rejecting a match is not merely based on chemistry. Nearly 39 per cent of Indian dating singles shared that walking away from a connection that your heart is set on can be as painful as getting rejected. The study shows that ending a promising match on paper comes with a huge amount of guilt, the burden of being the responsible one, and also second-guessing the decision.
